I have been playing with my computer for a while trying to make it feel and look better, having got thoroughly bored with how it looks now. After trying numerous useless and CPU or memory intensive programs, finally came across a google video giving a good demonstration of how you can almost, i repeat, almost make it look and feel like a Mac. Now, almost is a nice word - its quite there, but not completely. I can live with that.... :)
Anyways...i finally found some success yesterday with this whole thing, thanks largely to that video. I tweaked some of the stuff myself, but now i just love the way my comp feels. Luckily, most of the tweaking has not cost me a lot in CPU or memory resources. Atleast so far. Maybe i will put in a couple of screenshots.
As for the video - try searching for 'windows XP look like Mac' or 'windows looks like Mac leopard' etc. on you tube or google videos. There are quite a few videos out there for this now.
Funny, i thought i was stuck with my boring windows xp look. Imagine how long we have come with this stuff....not many years back, we thought windows was such an amazing program. I know Mac lovers will not agree with me, but unfortunately, i did not see a Mac till much later.
And in the fight of the browsers, safari is now available for windows. And the latest version of Firefox, that's firefox 3 is also available for download. Between the two, i still prefer firefox 3. Ok, i am no expert, but i just got the feeling that safari was a bit more CPU/memory intensive.
But all that said, i still cant get my 'recycle bin' to disappear from my desktop and there is another stupid icon called 'My Bluetooth Places'. The second with my laptop. I will try some more googling around to get those two to also disappear as well.
